Moulded handles get a grip on larger doors

An EMKA UK product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team May 4, 2007

Chunky high impact polyamide moulded handles are designed for use on heavy-duty equipment door panels.

Large air conditioning, refrigeration and acoustic door panels are generally thick, bulky and awkward to fit with conventional lock/handle mechanisms.

However, door furniture specialist Emka has now changed that with the introduction of the polyamide 1091 series, especially designed with these applications in mind.

The Emka 1091 system will fit door panels from 10 to 60mm thick, with a large comfortable handle and central through bolt which ties the whole assembly together, including heavy duty latch and inner handle if required.

The design of the latch incorporates a simple espagnolette rod system for top and bottom closure onto pentapost flanges with quarter-turn action.

Handles on the 1091 are chunky 165mm-long mouldings in high impact polyamide, and are available as industry standard in black ex-stock or in yellow, red or blue for special quantity requirements to complement installation colour schemes.

The 1091 system will be found valuable for both built-in installations and portable plant where rapid entry or access is required, often by engineers wearing thick gloves.
