Compression latches provide secure closure

An EMKA UK product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jul 23, 2008

Emka's 1000 range of compression latches handle vibration-prone applications using an adjustable clamp action.

Compression latch technology introduced in Emka's 1000 programme suits the closure of doors on such diverse equipment as electronic racks, vehicle-mounted units, telecommunications cabinets and other industrial electrical/electronic panels.

Their low profile, coupled with a lever compression action, not only serves to minimise unit footprint but also enhances closure security in vibration-prone applications using an adjustable clamp action.

The Emka 1000 compression latches feature built-in adjustment as well as industry standard key numbering to match or extend existing installations.

Locking and nonlocking variants are available, each with slightly raised trigger button for easy opening and using the same 86 x 25mm hole, with single mounting screw for fast installation.

Lever adjustment is facilitated by means of a plastic capped screw, which also prevents marking and enhances operator compatibility, ensuring optimal clamping action to negate the effects of vibration which may otherwise lead to nuisance opening of noncompression locks.

Escutcheon dimensions are only 93 x34 mm, with grip ranges of 1-24mm and 23-46mm to accommodate frames on small boxes or free standing cabinets.

Available finishes include black powder and chrome.
