EMKA offers easy access hinge range

An EMKA UK product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Oct 30, 2008

The EMKA hinge style range features simple door removal to make electrical systems accessible and easy to install.

The EMKA programme covers many standard types for prominent (lay-on) doors or flush-fit doors.

For example, concealed hinges with a selection of lift off features are available to suit both door types.

It is the same for external hinges for traditional prominent doors.

Removing doors by lifting them or by removing pins is an advantage when instrument holes have to be punched in them or when the ability to lay a door face down can speed wiring of graphics panels, meters and pushbuttons.

Hinges that come apart in this way are available in a range of styles - for example weld-in with lift out pin or external torpedo type either for weld-on or bolt-on fitment.

Others have the security of removable circlips on the hinge pin.

EMKA provides many fixing options so tools are not required to fit or remove the hinge.

For example, fixing options are available with each half screwed on, one half screwed/one half welded, both halves welded or a simple drop-in concealed pin fix.

These designs are predominately zinc die (finished in black or chrome) though moulded black polyamide is also available.

Stainless steel is also an option for many lift-off hinge types.
