Variable speed drives acquisition announced

An Emotron product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Apr 4, 2007

A new deal means that the Dietz-electronic products will now reach a global market through Emotron sales and distribution channels.

Emotron has from 1st April 2007 taken over the business of Dietz-electronic , a German manufacturer specialised in variable speed drives for lifts.

"This fits well with our focus on selected applications and our present lift business", says Jan-Eric Bergstrom, CEO of Emotron.

"The lift drives from Dietz-electronic complement our existing product portfolio and strengthens our offer to the market".

"The deal is also in line with our objective to grow, both organically and through acquisitions".

The deal means that the Dietz-electronic products will now reach a global market through Emotron sales and distribution channels.

Emotron acquires the major assets of Dietz-electronic, which will constitute a new lift competence centre for the Emotron group.

Product development, product management, technical support, service and repairs will remain in the present location in Neuffen, Germany and be performed mainly by former employees of Dietz-electronic.

In this way, technical expertise and customer support will be maintained, and further strengthened through additional resources and competence within the Emotron group.

Production and purchasing will be relocated to the Emotron plant in Helsingborg, Sweden and sales and marketing will be handled by the existing Emotron organisation and distribution channels.

In the German speaking home markets of Dietz-electronic, the products will be marketed by Emotron Antriebssysteme , Wernigerode, Germany.

Other markets will be promoted through the Emotron sales headquarters in Sweden and its international partners.

The Dietz-electronic product portfolio covers AC drives of up to 132kW and DC drives up to 90kW, including digital DC drives.
