Monitor checks condition of turbines

With 60,000 systems delivered and operating, and a worldwide technical support organisation, Saab Rosemount is the world leader within storage tank gauging.
The company's radar-based tank gauging systems are certified in all corners of the world.
Now Saab Rosemount is launching its new profile, Tank Intelligence.
"When we're talking with terminal companies and refineries, we often end up in discussions simply concerning transmitter features", explains Hans Westerlind, Marketing Manager at Saab Rosemount.
"With a focus on the transmitter alone, the customer risks missing out on the advantages to be gained from a complete system for operation and control on a tank farm".
Saab Rosemount will continue to market its system under the name Saab TankRadar Rex.
This is not a name change.
Rather, the concept Tank Intelligence will be used to focus customers' attention on what the components of the TankRadar Rex can achieve in combination-from tank level measurement instruments and pressure and temperature sensors to data bus connections and software for supervision and control.
"Our system provides added value greater than the sum of the individual components", says Hans Westerlind.
"It's about intelligence on several levels.
From the operator, who can monitor oil movements in the oil and check the mixing process, to the company management, who have the necessary tools for automatic custody transfer and loss control along with information to make precise inventory calculations".
Saab Rosemount will employ the Tank Intelligence concept in all marketing materials, from brochures to its website.
At the same time, it will be presenting its new figurehead: Albert, Tank Intelligence Officer.
"Albert is a virtual figure, which we use to demonstrate and clarify our concept", explains Hans Westerlind.
