Jargon buster cuts through the ATEX jungle
ABB has published an "ATEX jargon buster" that helps motor users cut through the jungle of terms and definitions that make up the new ATEX Directives.
The event is aimed at UK railway professionals involved with compliance and assurance across a wide range of specialisms, including equipment supply, operation, train leasing, infrastructure, maintenance and consultancy.
The conference is intended to be fully interactive, with case study workshops, a range of presentations and a networking session with complimentary refreshments.
Topics to be covered include forthcoming legislation (including the EMC and Interoperability Directives); how to benefit from the Rail Safety Case and Product Acceptance procedures and how computer-aided engineering and Finite Element Analysis can assist with rail compliance and assurance.
Design implications for demonstrating EMC/environmental compliance and assurance will also be considered.
The workshops will explore various case study experiences from organisations that have been frustrated by rail compliance and assurance, as well as those who have achieved it.
