The Faulhaber 6mm DC motor is available with a matching planetary gearhead with six different ratios.
6mm diameter motors have been manufactured before, but Electro Mechanical Systems is introducing not just the Faulhaber DC motor in 6mm, but also a 6mm planetary gearhead with six different ratios from 4:1 to 4.96:1.
The motor is available in three voltages, 1.5, 3.0 and 4.5V, and uses a neodymium magnet to maximise its high power to volume ratio.
Based on the well proven System Faulhaber winding, the 0615 motor weighs in at just 2g, yet can deliver up to 120mW of power.
Coupled to the all-steel planetary gearhead type 06/1, a peak torque of up to 35mNm can be achieved in operating conditions of from -30 to +85C.
The motor and gearhead are aimed at many high-tech markets, such as medical, aerospace and optical, but will prove interest to anyone requiring a small, compact, lightweight and highly efficient miniature drive.
