Faulhaber has expanded its encoder product line with the addition of its PA2-50 and PA2-100, distributed in the UK and Ireland by EMS.

Faulhaber now provides high-resolution, low-current-draw optical encoders in diameters from 6mm.

The company offers 50 lines per revolution into a 6mm-diameter package and 100 lines per revolution into an 8-12mm diameter package.

A custom-designed codewheel maximises the reflected light increasing the system's efficiency and signal reliability.

Applications requiring miniature motors with precision encoders will benefit from the use of the small integrated optical encoder, delivering consistent, accurate, and high-resolution results.

Complementing the Faulhaber range of 6mm-plus DC micromotors, the PA2-xx optical technology delivers 50-100 lines per revolution before quadrature.

Operating between 2.7VDC to 3.3VDC, low-voltage battery applications continue running for longer with higher resolution and more robust feedback signal reliability.

Improved battery life comes from a low-inertia codewheel and a battery-friendly current draw of 8-8.5mA.
