Encoder range covers all requirements
One of the main benefits of the new MEH series of hollow shaft encoders from Encoder Technology is its exceptional breadth making it a product suitable for all levels of sophistication.
High performance stepper motors now cost less
Tamagawa has introduced a range of stepper motors which compare favourably with other high performance models but at much lower cost.
The new 4 axis stepper PC/XT/AT board has 16 inputs and 8 outputs, all of which are opto isolated to 2500V.
The board can also be used to control servo motors and gives the designer the freedom to mix steppers and servos without limit.
Also available is a new card which allows closed loop stepper control via incremental encoders, removing the uncertainties associated with open loop steppers.
This card can also be populated for analogue output, allowing servo motors to be controlled.
The servo control board is a low cost modular design which also provides high design flexibility.
It controls four DC or AC motors via four channels of incremental encoder inputs; a 10 bit analogue input channel may be specified as an option.
As is standard with Encoder Technology pc interface cards, this unit also includes high specification opto isolators which ensure good RFI immunity.
British designed and built, the boards are supported by 12 months warranty and telephone support.
Both are supplied complete with manual, Borland and Microsoft C library and demonstration software.
Typically they will be used on XYZ routing tables, water jet cutting machines, engraving or welding systems and indeed any application requiring efficient motor control in an electrically noisy environment.
Additional options for both control boards include continuous contouring of all axes, full linear and circular interpolation and GNC16 full-featured motion control software.
Details of all the industrial PC products available from Encoder Technology are contained in a new shortform catalogue which is available from the company's Sussex sales office or may be downloaded directly from the website. Request a free brochure from Encoder Technology ...
