Training courses advance sound and vibration
The ISVR Advanced Course consists of a three-day core element, which is preceded by an optional two-day refresher in the principles of vibration and acoustics.
The application-oriented course is structured to give engineers and senior technicians a review of the basics and an opportunity to broaden their working knowledge in all aspects of accelerometer selection, installation, cabling and calibration.
Practical demonstrations are a vital ingredient of the course.
The course covers the following subjects: vibration and structural dynamics; shock motion; how shock and vibration are measured; accelerometer performance characteristics and error sources; accelerometer design and performance; signal conditioning, systems and read-outs; accelerometer calibration; testing with shock vibration as well as how to select the best system for an application.
The three-day course costs GBP 575 and includes all training material, lunch, coffee breaks and a course dinner.
Each delegate will also receive a complementary copy of Endevco's textbook, entitled: "Shock and vibration measurement technology".
Bruel and Kjaer also offers a two-day basic vibration course focusing on how vibration analysis techniques can be used to improve the reliability and performance of rotating equipment.
The course will cover the following: terminology; measuring units; time domain; frequency analysis (FFT); filters; integration; analysis techniques and analysis of sample machines.
A free course planner wall calendar highlighting all of Bruel and Kjaer's training courses in 2002 can be ordered from the company.
