A new, smallest ever, full-featured sound and vibration analyser has been launched by international acoustics and vibration specialist, Bruel + Kjaer The easy-to-use analyser was developed to provide a quick, cost-effective solution for noise and vibration measurement, analysis and troubleshooting applications by providing engineers with the power of a CPB, FFT or run-up/run-down analyser in an ultracompact PC card and break-out box package small enough to fit into an accessory pocket of a laptop bag

Software allows long-term noise monitoring
The noise management terminal software ensures the retrieval of this data through its user interface, which contains a built-in geographic information system.
Training courses advance sound and vibration
The ISVR Advanced Course consists of a three-day core element, which is preceded by an optional two-day refresher in the principles of vibration and acoustics.
The Pulse Lite 2.0 pocket noise and vibration analyser, Type 3560-L, is an entry-level analyser platform based on proven Windows technology that enables engineers to immediately start investigating or studying the sound and vibration aspects of a wide range of engineering applications including automotive, white goods and rotating machinery as well as being ideal for education, consultation and service requirements.
The powerful pocket analyser has been designed to be so simple to operate that novices and experts alike can start making valid sound and vibration measurements within an instant.
The analyser is also the only entry-level analyser that is part of a complete, sophisticated noise and vibration measurement platform.

Noise meter handles dangerous environments
The Protector Software can present logged noise exposures, making it much easier to visualise the variation with time of the measured noise levels.
Mapping system quickly sizes up enclosed spaces
Spherical Beamforming provides a complete omnidirectional noise map and makes no assumptions about the nature of the acoustic environment.
Based on the powerful, well proven Pulse platform technology, the Pulse Lite 2.0 3560-L analyser ensures that if measurement requirements change or become more complex there is always a simple upgrade path to achieve more sophisticated results.
Ideal for vibration, acoustic and impact testing applications the Pulse Lite 3560-L offers engineers the capability to make high-resolution (24bit A/D) measurements in the field or laboratory and then quickly process the captured data wherever they want.
The pocket analyser's hardware features two channels of CCLD conditioning to power accelerometers, microphones and impact hammers as well as two additional channels of direct input for tachometers or triggers.
The analyser provides users with the capability of directly relating noise and vibration to rotating elements such as engines, motors and tyres.
Contour and waterfall displays can be used to show how noise and vibration parameters vary with rotational speed variations.
The user-friendly software of the pocket analyser has been developed to minimise an engineer's set up time and ensure error-free sound and vibration measurements.
Benefits of the new software release include: access to all the Pulse cursors (main, reference, delta, harmonic and sideband); more cursor readings to go with the new cursors (delta, delta/total, reference, corrected frequency, resonance); more triggers in FFT and CPB (free-run, signal, and manual); the ability to specify windows in FFT and impact as well as add new transducers to the system's transducer database.
An online interactive tour of the Pulse Lite 2.0 pocket analyser's features can be viewed on the Bruel + Kjaer website.
