Engineering Adventures have adapted the software techniques that have been developed over many years by the children's educational games industry, to provide a powerful new approach for industrial training.

By producing clear, graphical simulations of engineering products or systems anyone can experiment safely with different equipment to gain a full understanding of how it works.

The best way to learn something is by doing it and this method allows people to gain the equivalent of many years experience in a relatively short period of time.

Multimedia programs are now very cost-effective.

For example, at roughly the same price as buying a physical hydraulic training rig, Engineering Adventures can often produce a working simulation of the equipment's performance that will work on every PC screen.

This can then be made available to a large number of people via the Internet or CD-ROM for little extra cost.

The clear graphics make each program very easy to use, even by people who have never used a computer before.

Spoken sound files also make learning much more pleasant and effective.

Programs can now be custom designed for almost any product and the beauty of Y2K is that it has provided the situation where this technology will work on practically every computer.

This has opened the door for using these techniques to deliver much more effective product catalogues while at the same time making significant savings to publishing costs.

Several examples of this work and additional information can be found at the Engineering Adventures web site.

Visitors can also download a fully working demo of Sun's Interactive Hydraulic training program or even learn to drive a steam locomotive in the on-line training room.
