Training course provides liquid pipeline guidance

Fluid Fundamentals Training discusses how to minimise capital, operating and maintenance costs involved in system operation.

Engineered Software has formed the Fluid Fundamentals Training division.

The new division has released Piping System Fundamentals, a system that provides a comprehensive look at liquid piping systems and how they work.

Piping System Fundamentals is a two-day course using a minimum of math formulas with an emphasis on understanding the relationships between components making up a piping system.

The course awards continuing educational credits or professional development hours upon completion.

The first of the six training courses is set for 26th-27th March, 2008, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA.

Ray Hardee, Professional Engineer and Chief Engineer for Engineered Software, will provide live instruction for the courses.

"This new training course is perfect as a refresher course for engineers and technicians in the liquid pipeline industry and other businesses that deal with liquid flow in pipes".

"That can include new graduates, people switching job duties, or just individuals who want to understand an industry that can seem somewhat complex", said Ray Hardee, PE and Chief Engineer at Engineered Software.

"We wanted to provide training in an area that no one seemed to be offering and at a pace and price point that people would appreciate".

The new training class covers piping basics such as the ins and outs of pipelines, pumps and other components.

It also discusses how to minimise capital, operating and maintenance costs involved in system operation.

Attendees are given the newest version of the CRANE Technical Paper Number 410 (TP410) and Piping System Fundamentals: the Complete Guide to Gaining a Clear Picture of Your Piping System, written by the course instructor Ray Hardee, PE.

"We hope this training better reflects the changing needs of the liquid pipeline industry as well as the needs of individuals and organisations", Blondin said.

"By focusing on core design principles and common piping system scenarios, this new training is much more in line with real-life job requirements and demands".
