The safe handling of any potential harmful substance is paramount and responsible companies ensure operators are well trained in product use and ensure safety information is understood.
Trichloroethylene is the chlorinated solvent widely used in metal degreasing.
It is a known carcinogen and therefore demands keen risk assessment.
Currently, users of more than one tonne per annum are required by European legislation to seek early substitution.
Equally the EU Cancer Directive encourages the same.
Enviro Tech Europe is the manufacturer of the most popular alternative.
The EnSolv range of products is approved to critical aerospace standards by Boeing.
Recognising the need for solvent users to understand both product and degreasing machinery, they have made available special guidance on vapour degreasing via their website to support those seeking to get away from trichloroethylene.
