Two new Good Practice Guides from Envirowise show how companies can address unnecessary waste incurred during the production process increasing costs

Unnecessary waste incurred during the production process increases costs and reduces company profits.

Two new Good Practice Guides from Envirowise show how companies can address this issue, thereby achieving significant cost savings and environmental benefits.

GG223 shows how ten companies across the UK industrial spectrum have used simple techniques based on using production data to acquire a better understanding of their process, identify areas of avoidable waste and opportunities for process improvement, check the effectiveness of any improvements made, and ensure that benefits achieved are maintained.

GG224 explains how to use the tools and techniques to identify and prevent process waste.

The options considered range from simple aids for brainstorming and identifying priorities to the construction of charts based on straightforward statistical mathematical principles.

The Guide uses a fictitious company to demonstrate a step-by-step approach to process improvement that is applicable to any manufacturer, irrespective of size or product.
