Envirowise has joined forces with Intellect, the Information Technology Telecommunications and Electronics Association, to promote the competitive opportunities brought about by the WEEE Directive.

Envirowise and Intellect are holding a free seminar, "Profit from cleaner design", in Birmingham on Tuesday 8th April, to provide advice on the WEEE Directive and how cleaner design concepts can benefit electronics businesses.

The issue of the WEEE Directive is one on which much theoretical information has been presented, but little practical advice provided.

The seminar will provide a unique opportunity for businesses to focus on the competitive opportunities brought by the WEEE Directive and highlight the practical initiatives available.

Speakers at the event will explain the key issues and illustrate examples of how businesses have taken this initiative and improved competitiveness.

The National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull hosts the day's programme, which runs from 09.45 to 16.00.

Attendance is free.
