Following the company's latest machine sale in the USA, EOS has revealed that Protogenic will be the first EOS laser-sintering service provider in the Western United States.

Protogenic has purchased an EOSINT P 385 laser-sintering system, and will soon be able to provide customers with polyamide (nylon) laser-sintered parts directly from their CAD data.

The EOSINT P 385 laser-sintering system allows Protogenic to provide real nylon parts, suitable for direct manufacturing and prototyping applications, in as little as a two-day timeframe in most cases.

As a leader and pioneer in the stereolithography and silicone RTV moulding rapid prototyping industry, Protogenic's owners have always strived to remain at the forefront of the technology.

From its research, Protogenic chose to go with the EOSINT P 385 laser-sintering machine from EOS, stating that EOS and its capabilities are the absolute best the world's laser-sintering market has to offer.

Steve Stewart, President of Protogenic, stated: "We chose the EOSINT P 385 over 3D Systems' Vanguard for its consistency, reliability and ease of operation".

"From start to finish, this machine is a manufacturing system, designed to make parts consistently to tolerance".

"The engineering is superior to other competitive machines, and our customers will reap the benefits of the best accuracy available using this laser-sintering process".
