Epcos' new higher density aluminium electrolytics with screw terminals - the perfect foil for traction applications.

The new Epcos B43560/580 aluminium electrolytic capacitors employ the very latest anode foil technology to give them a 120% higher capacitance than alternative devices available on the market The highly compact design also yields better thermal resistance values making the capacitors ideal for high voltage applications at temperatures up to 105°C

A high-conductance electrolyte minimises thermal losses giving the new capacitors an outstandingly high current-handling capability.

This means that the number of capacitors needed to be connected in parallel to achieve a specific current for a given application can thus be reduced.

Fewer capacitors means simpler circuits, less space requirement, lower weight and lower cost.

Thus the B43560/580 is particularly well suited to traction applications where weight reduction is playing an increasingly important role.

The screw terminal capacitors are available in three voltage ratings 350, 400 and 450V DC with capacitance values ranging from 1800 to 12000µF.

Case dimensions range from 64.3 x 105.7mm to 90.0 x 221.0mm.

An optimised low temperature response also allows the B43560/580 to operate at ambient temperatures down to -40°C.

Epcos is one of the largest suppliers of passive products worldwide.

The company currently has 15 manufacturing sites across the world, developing and manufacturing some of the most innovative products available.
