Epcos, the leading electronic and electrical component supplier offers a comprehensive range of PTC (positive temperature coefficient) thermistors to perform various tasks in a diverse range of applications.

Typical uses are as reversible fuses to protect against current overload or to provide short circuit or thermal protection in motor applications.

Various leaded package styles are available, these include disks, cylinders and encased parts.

For measurement and control applications there is an extensive range of probes.

The requirement for surface mount PTC thermistors has increased rapidly over recent years, particularly in the telecommunications, data systems and automotive markets.

EPCOS has extended its range to keep pace with this demand.

Two different mechanical designs are available; one with bent L-shaped terminal pins, the other with straight pins and a very low insertion height.

Most of the products in the EPCOS range of PTC thermistors have UL approval.

This certifies the products to acknowledged safety standards and benefits the end user in that approval of the entire end product is simplified.

Radial leaded parts are packed in accordance with IEC60286-2, and surface mount parts with IEC60286-3.

The complete range is included in a new EPCOS PTC thermistor catalogue.
