Epcos has released a catalogue of its broad range of NTC thermistors, for temperature measurement in domestic appliances, automobiles, and heating systems
This new catalogue allows users to quickly find a solution for virtually every application.
The catalogue clearly classifies the Epcos range available - from surface mount devices (SMDs) through moisture-resistant miniature sensors to glass-encapsulated models that can withstand temperatures up to 500C.
The electrical resistance of ceramic NTC thermistors decreases as a nonlinear function of increasing temperature and coupled with their high sensitivity and reliability makes them the ideal temperature sensor solution.
NTC-controlled electronic circuits play a major role in creating innovative, energy-saving end-products focused on user comfort and convenience.
Because of their high temperature coefficient, these thermistors are also suitable for compensating unwanted temperature response in semiconductor circuits.
Devices like switch-mode power supplies, electric motors, or transformers are subjected to peak currents at turn-on that can be prevented by the use of NTC thermistors - saving energy and safeguarding the follow-up circuitry and components.
