The Energeti Q series of square disk varistors are extremely small and offer up to 50% higher surge current handling capacity than varistors with the same space requirements

Epcos has launched a unique series of square disk varistors - the Energeti Q series These protective devices are extremely small and offer up to 50% higher surge current handling capacity than varistors with the same space requirements -allowing customers to downsize

Offering high reliability and available at an extremely attractive price, the series has a voltage range of between 130 and 320 VRMS for overvoltage protection in line voltage applications.

The Energeti Q series is split into Q14 and Q20 varistors.

The Q14 range, with dimensions of 14mm x 14mm, offer a surge current rating of 8kA (8/20 ms), while the Q20 model (20mm) offers a surge current rating of 15kA (8/20 ms).

The series, which forms part of the EPCOS range of SIOV metal oxide varistors, provides a wide operating temperature range of between -40 and +85oC and an insulation resistance of *1.0GW.

With tinned copper wire terminals, the varistors are epoxy resin coated, which is flame-retardant to UL 94 V-O.
