Dual safety system on power factor capacitors
PhiCap AC capacitors from Epcos are primarily designed for power factor correction in industrial environments, but can also be used in uninterruptible power supply and drive engineering applications
This makes the devices ideal for applications such as frequency inverters in variable speed drives, solar energy systems and uninterruptible power supplies.
The new filters have a rated voltage from 440 to 250V AC and current ratings of 6, 12, 16, 25 and 35A, with respective power dissipation of 29, 37, 49, 65 and 70W.
The units overload capability is 1.5 times the rated current per minute per hour while insulation is in excess of 1770V line to line and 2700V lines to case.
The filters have safe-to-touch terminal blocks.
The devices are enclosed in a tough metal case ingress protected to IP20 and comply with EN, UL and CSA approvals.
EPCOS offers comprehensive product support via its global network of sales offices.
