The Education and Training Group of the EPMA is organising a competition for theses on powder metallurgy at both diploma/masters and doctorate/PhD levels.

The Education and Training Group (ETG) of the European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA) is once again organising a PM thesis competition for theses on powder metallurgy at both diploma/masters and doctorate/PhD levels, following the successful PM thesis competition awards in 1996, 1998 and 2000.

The aim of the competition is to promote and develop an interest in powder metallurgy among young scientists at European academic establishments and to encourage research at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The winners of the PM Thesis Competition 2002 will receive their prizes at Euro PM2002, which will be held in Lausanne, Switzerland, from the 7th to 9th October, where there will be an opportunity to make a short presentation.

The prize winners will receive a cheque for Eur 750 for the diploma/masters category and Eur 1000 for the doctorate/PhD category plus free registration to 'euro pm2002'.

The subject of the thesis must be capable of being classified under the topic 'powder metallurgy' and have been accepted or approved by the applicant's teaching establishment during the past three years.

Applicants must be nationals of a European state.

The deadline for receiving entries is 14th June 2002.
