EPMA 11th General Assembly report
The European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA) held its 11th General Assembly and Management Seminar in Lindau, Germany, in mid-May 2000, attended by some 70 members and guests.
Certification will benefit both employer and employee by enabling a common European standard to be achieved, helping to improve the overall level of technical knowhow of the work force and promoting powder metallurgy.
The standard level of certification is open to any applicant, including non-technical personnel, over 18 years of age who can show by way of a written exam that they understood the general principles, practices and terminology associated with the PM industry.
An advanced level certificate will then offered to graduates with a degree or equivalent in science/engineering /technology with at least 10 years active experience in PM (including the PM supply chain).
The examination is available initially in the following languages: English, French, German, Spanish and Italian.
The fee for EPMA members is Eur 150 and for non-EPMA members Eur 300, and the certificate is valid for 5 years.
