Thesis competition opens to entries
The EPMA's 2004 powder metallurgy thesis competition is now open for theses on powder metallurgy at both diploma/masters and doctorate/PhD levels.

EPMA 11th General Assembly report
The European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA) held its 11th General Assembly and Management Seminar in Lindau, Germany, in mid-May 2000, attended by some 70 members and guests.
The aim of the competition is to promote and develop an interest in powder metallurgy among young scientists at European academic establishments and to encourage research at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
The winners of the PM thesis competition 2004 will receive their prizes at the opening plenary session at PM2004 World Congress and Exhibition to be held in Vienna, Austria, 17th-21st October, where there will be an opportunity to make a short presentation.
Each winner will each receive a cheque for: Eur 750 for the diploma/masters category and Eur 1000 for the doctorate/PhD category plus free registration to the PM2004 World Congress.
Prize winners will also be invited to contribute an article for Powder Metallurgy, the EPMA official technical journal.
Extensive press coverage will be given to the winners.
The subject of the thesis must be capable of being classified under the topic "powder metallurgy" and have been accepted or approved by the applicant's teaching establishment during the past three years.
Entry is free and is open to nationals of any European state.
The deadline for receiving entries is 30th April 2004.
