The European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA) held its 11th General Assembly and Management Seminar in Lindau, Germany, in mid-May 2000, attended by some 70 members and guests.
Powder metallurgy training begins in Germany
The European Powder Metallurgy Association is holding a new series of training courses on powder metallurgy for young materials and design engineers.
The aim of the competition is to promote and develop an interest in powder metallurgy among young scientists at European academic establishments and to encourage research at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
The winners of the PM Thesis Competition 2006 will receive their prises at the Opening Plenary Session at Euro PM2006 Congress and Exhibition to be held in Ghent, Belgium, 23rd to 25th October 2006, where there will be an opportunity to make a short presentation.
Each winner will each receive a cheque for: Eur 750 for the diploma/masters category and Eur 1000 for the doctorate/PhD category plus free registration to the Euro PM2006 Congress.
Prize winners will also be invited to contribute an article for the EPMA official technical journal, Powder Metallurgy.
The winners will be promoted on the EPMA website and will be given extensive press coverage.
The subject of the thesis must be capable of being classified under the topic "powder metallurgy" and have been accepted or approved by the applicant's teaching establishment during the past three years.
Entry is free and is open to nationals of any European state.
The deadline for receiving entries is 12th May 2006.
