Powder metallurgy training begins in Germany
The European Powder Metallurgy Association is holding a new series of training courses on powder metallurgy for young materials and design engineers.
"The Euro PM2006 Exhibition was originally sold out early on in 2006, and due to increased exhibitor interest in the exhibition, a second exhibition area was created to accommodate extra exhibition capacity", said Andrew Almond, Marketing Manager for the EPMA.
He added: "We were delighted that the exhibition area's capacity was increased as this ensured the exhibition was representative of the current PM industry".
"The appeal of the focused event helped to attract an international audience of delegates, from over 36 countries, which included the Far East, Africa and the Americas", explained Jonathan Wroe, EPMA Executive Director.
He also said "The event attracted 150 oral and poster presentations and over 450 participants".
Another factor that facilitated the success of Euro PM06 was the programme of special seminars and workshops.
The varied workshops covered important PM topics such as MIM/titanium and ultrafine/nano materials, and was supplemented by a practical session: "Working with diamond tools", sponsored by Hilti, Liechtenstein.
"The workshops were all well attended, so much so that the MIM/titanium was 'standing room only'", said Wroe.
He went on to say: "The varied programme of special workshops and seminars has been a real bonus for us this year, and we hope to build on its success at future Euro PM events".
"Ghent has been a delightful host city for our delegates and exhibitors and we look forward to next year and Euro PM2007 Congress and Exhibition in Toulouse, France".
