Glittering prizes for powder metallurgy

Competition aims to promote and develop an interest in powder metallurgy among young scientists at European academic establishments.
The European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA) is now accepting entries for its 2008 Powder Metallurgy Thesis Competition, sponsored by Hoganas of Sweden, Theses on powder metallurgy at both diploma/masters and doctorate/PhD levels are eligible for this highly successful biennial event, which aims to promote and develop an interest in powder metallurgy among young scientists at European academic establishments and to encourage research at undergraduate and postgraduate levels

The European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA) held its 11th General Assembly and Management Seminar in Lindau, Germany, in mid-May 2000, attended by some 70 members and guests.
Powder metallurgy training begins in Germany
The European Powder Metallurgy Association is holding a new series of training courses on powder metallurgy for young materials and design engineers.
The winners of the 2008 PM Thesis Competition will receive their prizes at the opening plenary session of the Euro PM2008 Congress and Exhibition to be held in Mannheim, Germany from 29th September to 1st October.
Winners will receive a cheque for Eur 750 in the diploma/masters category and Eur 1000 in the doctorate/PhD category.
During the prize giving both winners will have the opportunity to give a short presentation on their thesis topics.
In addition, they will also be given free registration to the Euro PM 2008 Congress and be invited to contribute an article for the EPMA official technical journal "Powder Metallurgy".
The winners will be promoted on the EPMA website and will be given extensive press coverage.
The subject of the thesis must be capable of being classified under the topic "powder metallurgy" and have been accepted or approved by the applicant's teaching establishment during the past three years.
Entry is free and is open to nationals of any European state.
The deadline for receiving entries is 25th April 2008.
