Workshops and tours add to congress experience

An European Powder Metallurgy Association product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jul 23, 2008

This year's Euro PM Congress and Exhibition offers a choice of three focused workshops and the opportunity to visit either the Mercedes Benz or BASF factory.

Delegates to this year's Euro PM Congress and Exhibition, from 29th September to 1st October 2008 in Mannheim, Germany, will be able to participate in focused workshops on "Hard materials: cermets, ceramics and superhard materials", "Quality of MIM products" and "Compaction technology - advances and future challenges".

The three seminars have been designed for distinct market sectors, which will be able to create a real focal point for their industry area.

The hard materials seminar will discover how cermets, ceramics and superhard materials will help improve machining productivity of new and existing work piece materials.

The metal injection moulding workshop will explore the current issue of the quality of MIM products and discuss how future quality can be maintained and what will be involved.

The objective of the compaction technology workshop will be to determine benefits, practicality and limitations of current technologies and, as a result to identify areas that require further research and development.

The end of the special range of seminars will coincide with delegate tours of the Mercedes Benz Factory and the BASF factory for the Wednesday afternoon.

Three tours of the Mercedes Benz factory have been arranged, with the first tour bus leaving at 1330 local time.

The one and only tour of the BASF plant will leave at 1330 local time.

Spaces at the seminars/workshops, as well as on the Mercedes Benz and BASF Tours are limited, so to avoid disappointment, please tick the appropriate special workshop/seminar/tour box on the delegate registration form, which is available on the EPMA website.
