EPMA revises EHS guide

An European Powder Metallurgy Association product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Mar 16, 2009

The European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA) is producing the 2009-edition Guide to EU Legislation and Environmental Health and Safety in the European PM Industry (EHS).

The 2009 edition, the seventh in the series, has been prepared by PM specialists for the EPMA and is due to be published in April.

The guide will take into account the changes that have occurred over the last five years, since the last edition was published, with a new section on Reach, as well as sections on globally harmonised systems, nano-materials and eco-efficiency.

It will also feature updates on legislation affecting PM manufacturers, managers and technologists.

Andrew Almond, the EPMA's marketing manager, said: 'The newly revised 2009 EPMA EHS guide provides an excellent reference for industry managers and health-and-safety specialists who require a large volume of study material in order to comply with European and national legislation.

'The EPMA has produced the new EHS guide to be of benefit to busy managers as the new edition offers convenient summaries for quick references, as time is critical in a busy environment,' he added.

The guide will also provide in-depth information for the more specialist managers, with completely updated chapters from the previous edition.

It will contain a comprehensive series of annexes, including an index, a glossary of terms used in European legislation, a list of websites and hazard risk and safety phrases.

The pre-order price of the guide is EUR130 (GBP120) for EPMA members and EUR250 for non-EPMA members, saving EUR40 off the regular sale price.
