EPTDA grew membership in January
Three distributors and three manufacturers join the European Power Transmission Distributors Association in January 2006.
The European Power Transmission Distributors Association (EPTDA) welcomed six new member companies in January 2006 This growth is an indication that the EPTDA is increasing awareness in the power transmission and motion control industry, throughout Europe and beyond

Jargon buster cuts through the ATEX jungle
ABB has published an "ATEX jargon buster" that helps motor users cut through the jungle of terms and definitions that make up the new ATEX Directives.
Three distributors and three manufacturers joined the association.
The distributors are: Transmision (Spain), represented by Jose Maria Moreno, Finance Manager; Paulo Barbosa (Portugal), represented by Francisco Barbosa, General Manager; and Svend Hoyer (Denmark) represented by Lars Hoyer, Manager.
The manufacturers are: Safar (Spain), represented by Maialen Sesma, Export Department; Perma-Tec (Germany) represented by Shalin Patel, Director of Global Sales, Global Marketing and Application Engineering; and Drives (USA), represented by Malcolm Ormiston, International Sales.
Paulo Barbosa is the EPTDA's first Portuguese member.
The EPTDA is continuously broadening and diversifying its membership base to cover wider markets, wider regions and make the association more visible, with the support of its members.
Headquartered in Brussels, the EPTDA organises distributors and manufacturers of power transmission and motion control products at European level.
It represents 189 companies from 19 countries including East European countries, the USA and Canada, namely 111 distributors of power transmission and motion control products, 69 manufacturers, and nine associate members that provide services directly related to the industry.
In 2005, EPTDA added 24 member companies.
By its next annual convention, 20th-22nd September 2006 in Vienna, it aims to broaden its membership base further, especially in the East European countries.
