ERI head hosts vibration testing course

An Equipment Reliability Institute product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jun 23, 2009

Head of the Equipment Reliability Institute (ERI), Wayne Tustin, will discuss the severe vibrations that affect aerospace applications in a course meeting at Washington Laboratories.

The 'Fundamentals of Random Vibration and Shock Testing, HALT, ESS, HASS' course will deal with accelerometers used over the road, over the waves, in flight, and during rocket launch and powered flight.

Accelerometer signals can be stored on board or can be telemetered to recording stations.

One use of the resulting data is to generate programs to control shakers used to test parts of future vehicles.

The meeting takes place at Washington Laboratories in Frederick, Maryland, from 4-6 November 2009, 08:00 to 16:00.
