The Pulse Technology division of Eriez Magnetics Europe announces the release of its new product brochure on the Metalarm 6000 Range of Metal Detectors for conveyor applications.

The Metalarm 6301 has already proved very popular, particularly in the plastics and rubber moulding and re-processing industries for detecting metal contamination.

Now, following a busy period of product development, the Metalarm 6000 range has been extended to include the Metalarm 6500 which has been specifically designed for higher sensitivity applications, for example where stainless steel is a problem.

A further addition to the range is the Metalarm 6700 which has been introduced for the detection of stainless steel nails.

The Metalarm 6700 is different from the other models insofar as its housing contains both electronics and search coil.

Moreover, this detector is currently only available for belt widths up to 250mm, whereas for the Metalarm 6301 and 6500 the control unit is provided for conveyor belt widths up to 500mm.

All three models in the Metalarm 6000 Range can be supplied with a choice of search coil to ensure that the best solution is provided to meet a specific application.

All new models share the benefits of the earlier, still hugely successful, Metalarm 6301 model, such as low cost, easy and safe installation, small and lightweight control unit for direct attachment to lightweight conveyors and a sensing height covering the whole belt width.

At Eriez' new test laboratories in Caerphilly, South Wales, free tests will be conducted to determine the optimal solution for each individual client.

Early tests are important because sensitivity of metal detectors is dependent on a number of variables, including the adjustment of the electronics, the width of the search coil, type and size of the metal being detected as well as the height of the product on the conveyor.
