Improved magnet removes unwanted tramp
metal

At the Hillhead 2001 Quarrying and Recycling Show, Eriez Magnetics will exhibit key products from its comprehensive range of magnetic separators, metal detectors and automatic sampling equipment

On Pavilion Stand P128 at the Hillhead 2001 Quarrying and Recycling Show (26-28 June), Eriez Magnetics will exhibit key products from its comprehensive range of magnetic separators, metal detectors and automatic sampling equipment Eriez is the world's largest manufacturer of magnetic separators

One of the most extensively used products in the quarrying and recycling industry is the Eriez Permanent Overband Magnet.

These magnets are used for the removal of unwanted tramp metal and for the protection of machinery, such as mobile crushers.

The Eriez Overband Magnet incorporates an improved magnetic circuitry design using finite element analysis.

This enables improved separation of tramp metal contamination.

Eriez Overband Magnets are available in different sizes, strengths and configurations, such as manual clean, self-clean, in-line and cross-belt.

The customer's separation parameters dictate which model is required.

On show at Hillhead will be the Eriez CP 20/80 Manual Clean model.

Details of Eriez' vast selection of magnetic separation equipment will also be available on the stand.

Examples include Suspended Electromagnets, Magnetic Pulleys and Non-Ferrous Separators for separating and sorting applications in the recycling industry as well as High Intensity Magnetic Filters, Rare Earth Rolls and Rare Earth Magnetic Drum Separators widely used in mineral processing industries.

Eriez will display two new products from its metal detector range.

The first is the TR-10 Underbelt Search Coil, which is the only one of its kind on the market, insofar as it can be set to detect only pieces of metal over a specified size.

Up to now this facility has been achieved solely with aperture type search coils which are not liked by the trade as the top coil is prone to damage when over-burden situations occur.

Ignoring small pieces of metal also means that the TR-10 prevents unnecessary stoppage of the feed conveyor and therefore results in increased daily throughput and higher profits.

The other new model is also from the Eriez METALARM Metal Detector range.

In this case the control unit is incorporated on the end of the search head, thus making installation of the metal detector both cheaper and faster.

It is faster because there is no need for a special framework to be constructed to mount the control unit and because any cable can be run between the control unit and the search coil.

Good financial savings are achieved due to a reduction in materials required and in labour hours.

To complement the range of magnetic separators and metal detectors on the stand Eriez will demonstrate an operating model from its Prisecter range of samplers.

Eriez Prisecter Sampling Systems are in operation in hundreds of locations around the globe.

Product sampling is an essential part of monitoring the quality of a conveyed product.

Automated sampling systems guarantee the standard of the sample taken.

This technology is being used extensively in the quarrying, coal, power generation, cement, mineral processing and steel industries, with further potential in the food, plastics and recycling industries. Request a free brochure from Eriez Magnetics Europe ...
