Metals detectors integrate with moving belts

An Eriez Magnetics Europe product story
Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Dec 9, 2004

The Eriez Metalarm 7000 is believed to be the only one of its kind in that it can be fitted into a machine process close to moving metals without false-tripping.

A UK-based extruder, printer and converter of flexible polythene packaging for the food and food packaging industries recently acquired three Eriez Metalarm 7000 single-sider metal detectors and one purpose-designed Eriez Metalarm 3500 metal detector with special plate coil.

The single-sider metal detectors have been installed to ensure that no perforation pins remain the polythene sheets during perforation.

In the unlikely event, that any pins do break off, the multi-zone unit not only detects them, but advises the operator where to look for them.

The Eriez Metalarm 7000 is believed to be the only one of its kind in that it can be fitted into a machine process close to moving metals without false-tripping.

The custom-build Eriez Metalarm 3500 metal detector supplied to the company has been specially developed to fit into an existing machine which cuts and folds the finished products.

This detector serves as a final quality check before the product is packed.

The Eriez Metalarm 3500 metal detector is engineered with the proven "pulse induction" technology, is easy to install and can be made to fit virtually any type of conveyor.
