Permanent magnet contract lasts until 2007

Edited by the Engineeringtalk editorial team Jul 12, 2006

Eriez has been working with Fintec in Ballygawley, Co Tyrone, since 2001, and has now secured a contract to fulfil its monthly requirement for suspended permanent magnets until the year 2007.

Eriez Magnetics Europe has been working with Fintec, based in Ballygawley, Co Tyrone, since 2001, when it was formed out of a management buyout of Finlay BME .

It was during this time that Fintec began to diversify into the business of mobile crushing and screening to complement its established mobile block making equipment.

Moreover, with the increased investment made by Sandvik of Sweden in 2005 totalling to 49% equity, the company has worked on a growth strategy to design and sell a range of mobile equipment targeted specifically at the contractor market in both the recycling and quarrying industries.

Fintec's success in these competitive markets has been staggering, achieving over 60% growth per year with orders received in 2006 already exceeding total sales for 2005.

Riding the crest of this wave of success, Eriez has secured the Fintec contract to fulfil its monthly requirement for suspended permanent magnets until the year 2007.

Eriez is supplying Fintec with the Model CP 20/100 SC2 with hydraulic motor which is extensively used in the quarrying and recycling industries for the protection of mobile crushing equipment.

These self-cleaning units were chosen as they are ideal for magnetic separation of bulk product, especially where positioned over moving conveyor belts and where larger volumes of tramp iron are anticipated.

The Eriez CP Model is noted in the aggregates, recycling and allied industries for its versatility, affordability, reliability and high performance attributes and is therefore a popular choice when it comes to protecting crushing machinery and removing iron from demolition rubble.

In order to forge a worldwide reputation for quality and service, Fintec will expect suppliers, such as Eriez, continue to co-operate with them in providing superior products and professional support.

With the announcement of a 5200m2 expansion of its manufacturing facility in Ireland and the cachet of a Queen's Award for International Trade, Fintec present a tough act for their competitors to follow.
