Battery master switches meet latest regulations
At the Commercial Vehicle Show, E-T-A Circuit Breakers will feature its latest battery master switches for hazardous goods carrying road vehicles built to meet the 2005 edition of ADR regulations.
The E-T-A Battery Master Switch series E-1032 fully meets the existing European Agreement concerning the international carriage of dangerous goods by road (ADR regulations), included in appendix B2.
These regulations call for a Battery Master Switch placed as close as possible to the battery with direct or indirect control devices installed.
The E-T-A E-1032 provides remote electrical disconnection and reconnection, thereby enabling the requirement to be satisfied in full, and is housed within an IP65 enclosure.
The permanently energised output provided for tachographs and similar equipment is intrinsically safe and the complete switch assembly is certified to relevant European requirements.
Single and double pole versions are available.
E-T-A also manufactures the 922 double pole Battery Master Switch with manual control and remote disconnection, approved by BASEEFA and suitable for current UK Petroleum Vehicle Regulations.
The European Agreement concerning the international carriage of dangerous goods by road (ADR regulations) is in the process of being updated.
Publication of the next edition is expected before the end of 2000 with a July 2002 deadline for implementation.
E-T-A not only has experience of existing European and UK legislation, but the company also has been working with the relevant committees on the drafting of the next ADR edition.
Some new requirements are likely and E-T-A will have suitable solutions available. Request a free brochure from E-T-A Circuit Breakers ...
