E-T-A Circuit Breakers has introduced a miniaturised plug-in circuit breaker with combined switch functionality.

E-T-A Circuit Breakers has introduced a miniaturised plug-in circuit breaker with combined switch functionality.

Designed to reduce downtime in process control and automation applications, the product provides resettable replacements for blade fuses and is conveniently installed by means of a complementary purpose designed terminal block system.

The new E-T-A 1180 thermal circuit breaker for equipment (CBE) is an attractively styled plug-in device designed for voltage ratings up to 250V AC or 65V DC.

The current rating can be selected from a wide range of values between 0.1 and 10A.

The tripped/off position is clearly indicated by the pushbutton actuator with optional press-on/press-off operation.

The 1180 will provide a permanent replacement for a blade-type fuse.

Instead of having to identify which fuse is blown and then trying to locate a suitable replacement, the button on the 1180 is pressed to instantly re-energise the circuit.

Furthermore, the characteristic of the CBE is designed to avoid nuisance tripping from short-term surges or transients, caused, for example, by motor startups.

These may cause fuses to blow unnecessarily.

E-T-A is also offering a DIN-rail terminal block mounting system for the 1180, complete with insulation barriers, labels and a bus bar for connection of a common supply for up to 10 devices.

There is an option of LED indication of the circuit status.

Details of the new product can be found in the latest Issue F of E-T-A's "Circuit breakers and control products" catalogue which now runs to 394 pages and can be requested free by telephone or email.
