E-T-A Circuit Breakers has introduced a fully approved, award winning circuit breaker for telecommunications equipment, plant control systems, the rail industry and other applications where reliable protection in a compact package is essential.

Available in current ratings up to 125A, it is the highest current carrying device of its type available.

The new E-T-A 8345 is a magnetic circuit breaker for equipment (CBE) with ratings from 0.1A up to 125A in a package which measures just 63.5 x 19mm, and with a rear of panel depth of 19mm.

The 125A maximum rating, which is 25A higher than the industry norm, allows designers to increase power output without consuming valuable rack space, a feature that addresses the trend towards more power output to accommodate increased call-switching volumes in telecommunications equipment.

The product is available in single, two, three and four-pole configurations.

Different mounting methods, toggle colours, and location notches for water splash covers or mechanical toggle guards are available.

These circuit breakers can be installed together in cabinets or racks with optional provision of individual signal status outputs and common rail connection.

The product is fully approved to UL489, UL1077 and EN 60934 standards.

Meeting these standards requires the circuit breaker to be fit for purpose after interrupting a short circuit at its maximum specified fault rating.

An extra measure of protection for expensive electrical equipment is assured, reducing costly downtime caused by power interruption.

The E-T-A 8345 won a major international design award against competition from entries from over 30 countries.

The iF Design Award 2002 (International Forum Hannover) endorses the company's aim to introduce products which offer, not only technical sophistication and reliability, but also a very innovative and distinctive style which will become instantly recognisable worldwide.
