E-T-A Circuit Breakers will be displaying door lock relays and circuit breakers on its stand during the 2003 Domestic Appliance Tour.

The Dream Marketing International mobile exhibition of suppliers to the industry will visit around 20-25 major domestic appliance manufacturers in the UK and across Europe.

The exhibition uses a state-of-the-art trailer to take around 20 exhibitors and their products into the heart of relevant industries, in this case domestic appliance manufacturers.

Each supplier has a dedicated booth equipped with displays and products.

As one of these exhibitors, E-T-A will show and explain how its electrical door lock relays and combined switch/circuit breakers can offer superior safety protection of domestic appliances.

E-T-A door locking relays are designed to meet IEC safety requirements for domestic and heavy-duty professional washing machines, dishwashers, microwave ovens and similar appliances.

By ensuring that the door cannot be opened whilst the machine is operating, users are protected from moving parts, high temperatures, steam, radiation and other hazards.

For example, the E-T-A 6520 door locking relay is a voltage activated magnetic door lock suitable for washing machines.

It features a door mechanism that can be customised.

When the door is closed manually, it is locked automatically and requires an electrical pulse to release it.

An additional actuator unlocks the door mechanically in the event of a power failure.

The E-T-A 6510-F2 provides microwave ovens and cookers with electrical monitoring when the door striker latches.

The 6510-F1 offers additional electro-magnetic door locking protection during high-temperature pyrolytic cleaning.

Also on show will be a variety of high quality switch/circuit breakers for any domestic or professional appliance using an electric motor.

The latest European Machine Directive demands that machines such as mixers and slicers must not restart automatically after a temporary loss of power.

The E-T-A 3120 switch/circuit breaker, for example, provides switching, motor overload protection, and, when fitted with an undervoltage module, protection against automatic restarts.

There is also a wide range of options including rocker colour, with/without illumination, and splash covers.
