Versatile drive eases integration process
Parker Hannifin's AC890 drive can meet the requirements of all variable speed applications, from simple motor speed control to integration of sophisticated multidrive automation or process systems.
Compact DC drive saves cabinet space
Cooling fans are only switched on when required and are constantly monitored for rotation, which eliminates unexpected machine downtime when the drive gets too hot.
"We have intentionally limited the functionality of the drive for the vast majority of users who do not want to be encumbered with superfluous complexities required for more advanced applications," explains Mark Hartley, Eurotherm Drives UK Sales and Marketing Manager.
The inverters are up to 40% smaller in volume and footprint area than equivalent units and to simplify installation come with internal EMC (Electro-Magnetic Compatibility) filters fitted as standard.
This not only saves the cost of an additional filter but also minimises earthing arrangements.
Each unit can be either DIN rail or direct panel mounted.
An integral 6-button keypad and bright, backlit display provides local motor control, diagnostics and drive status indication.
The configurable inputs and outputs enable the drives to be controlled from either 0-10V or 4-20mA setpoints or alternatively from up to 8 pre-set speeds.
A dedicated motor thermistor input and relay output are also provided.
Initially three frame sizes are available with 230V ratings from 0.2 to 1.5kW and 400V ratings up to 7.5kW, with increased ratings to 90kW available by mid-summer.
Each rating includes a potent 150% overload for starting high stiction loads.
The 650 inverters are aimed at applications such as fan, pump and conveyor speed control and complements Eurotherm Drives' more sophisticated ranges of open and closed AC drives, servo drives and DC drives.
Together these provide solutions to virtually any variable speed drive application.
The full product range is available with full support and service in over 50 countries worldwide.
