The Engineering Integrity Society is presenting "A business case for optimising designs in product development (virtual and real testing)" at Ford Dunton Technical Centre On Wednesday 18th May 2005.

Too many of the predictive and virtual tools used in modern engineering design are based on historic assumptions.

Technology is now available to make proven, cost-effective design and production decisions based on accurate results and real data.

In order to stimulate greater investment by companies in product integrity, it is essential that industry embrace the commercial benefits of applying the appropriate new technology by challenging traditional methods that no longer provide an adequate business case.

This seminar is designed to challenge some of the old assumptions and stimulate debate with presentations from experts in the field of test, design and simulation.

The use of new technology to make accurate predictions and replace not so accurate assumptions can provide real financial benefits by reducing design, production and re-call costs.

Presentations and discussion will centre on modern theories and practical applications of predictive and virtual tools and testing.

The day will also include a tour of Ford's Dunton Technical Centre engineering facilities.

Following the EIS seminar, the IMechE is holding an evening event at on the new Ford GT.

Attendance at this talk is free and open to all, including nonmembers.
