An Engineering Integrity Society product story

A successful one-day conference presented the case for investment in the tools now available for optimising designs during product development, using virtual and real testing.

The Engineering Integrity Society held a successful one-day conference at Ford Motor Company, Engineering Centre, Dunton on 18th May 2005.

The focus of the day was on presenting a business case for investment in the tools now available for optimising designs during product development, using virtual and real testing.

Topics such as residual strain, the validation of predictive models and virtual testing identified essential areas inadequately served by existing methods that require better understanding to realise the clear commercial benefits to be gained.

These vital issues apply to a wide industrial base and a second conference to continue these debates has been requested.

A follow up event will be held later this year at another significant venue.

Details of the papers presented plus a schedule of forthcoming events can be obtained from the EIS website.
