Rail conference set for October

The Engineering Integrity Society's Rail Conference will open at the UK National Railway Museum on Wednesday 12th October 2005.

The Engineering Integrity Society's Rail Conference will open at The National Railway Museum on Wednesday 12th October 2005 with a keynote address: "A system view of railways' contribution to transport and the environment" from RA Smith, Imperial College, London Speakers on day one will present papers on "The railway as a system", "Railways and the environment" and "Monitoring and measurement systems"

A conference dinner will be held in the Great Hall of the museum, and those attending will be taken on a behind the scenes tour of the museum prior to dining.

Andrew Scott, Head of the National Railway Museum will give an after dinner speech.

On Thursday 13th October, papers will focus on "Reliability and maintenance", "The structural integrity of rolling stock" and "Infrastructure in the railway industry".
