The Engineering Integrity Society is holding a symposium to present a selection of new methods and approaches in the field of noise vibration and harshness (NVH).

The event is cosponsored by the Institute of Acoustics and delegates at the one-day event will have the opportunity to look at a wide range of topical subjects and case studies from some of the main players in the field.

NVH reduction in vehicles involves many technologies.

Papers will cover diverse subjects including new methods of locating noise sources using noncontact methods, optimising the acoustic environment inside vehicles, transient noises such as squeaks, rattles and clonks, wind noise, brake squeal and the use of mathematical modelling of NVH phenomena to speed up the design of quieter vehicles.

The symposium will be held at the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel Coventry, UK, on Thursday 3rd November 2005.
