The Engineering Integrity Society is running a one-day conference called Data Analysis Techniques on 28th June 2006 in Derby, UK.

The conference is intended to provide an insight into data analysis techniques across all levels.

This is an opportunity to share experience in the field as delegates are encouraged to bring their problems and queries to be discussed in an open forum session, providing the opportunity to seek advice from the presenters as well as gain perspectives and insights into how other practitioners have handled similar difficulties.

The morning presentations are aimed at providing an overview of basic analysis techniques, determining the accuracy requirements of an analysis and assessing the quality of data.

Presenters will also highlight the errors that can arise from simple mistakes and incorrect interpretation of results.

The afternoon sessions will look at more advanced topics such as data analysis software verification, linking data analysis to finite element analysis, analysis using spatial sampling and the analysis of field data before deriving a simulation test in the laboratory.

Presentations will be made by Barrie May (Consultant), David Ensor (Mira), Damian Harty (Prodrive), John Draper (Safe Technology), Colin Mercer (Prosig) and Colin Dodds (Dodds and Associates).
