Conference brings fatigue experts together

A three-day conference to be held at Queens' College, Cambridge offers a varied and highly technical programme of papers and research from world experts in the field of fatigue.

The Engineering Integrity Society has announced the provisional programme for Fatigue 2007: "Fatigue and durability assessment of materials, components and structures".

The three-day conference to be held from 26th to 28th March 2007, at Queens' College, Cambridge, UK, offers a varied and highly technical programme of papers and research from world experts in the field.

Confirmed plenary and keynote speakers are: Prof Paul Bowen, (University of Birmingham, UK); Prof Jean-Louis Chaboche (Onera, France); Prof Gregorz Glinka (University of Waterloo, Canada); Prof Trevor Lindley, (Imperial College London, UK); R Sunder (BiSS Research, India); Darrell Socie (University of Illinois, USA); John Evans (University of Wales Swansea, UK); Robert Ritchie (University of California, Berkeley, USA).

"The calibre of the papers has allowed us to pull together an exciting programme of presentations from key personnel working and studying in the aerospace, marine, land based transport, manufacturing and materials processing sectors".

"This promises to be our most successful and expansive fatigue conference yet", said convenor, Martin Bache.

The conference is sponsored by Instron, Safe Technology, TWI and nCode International and cosponsored by Institute of Physics, IMechE and Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining.
