How do you verify your thermometer readout is correct? Electronic Temperature Instruments' new 3001 dry-well heat source calibrator is a truly portable dry-well heat source.

It is small (57 x 125 x 158mm), lightweight (900grams) and simple to use.

Anyone can learn to use a 3001 in less than 15 minutes.

It has a range from +33 to +300C and is perfect for verifying the accuracy of handheld thermometers and probes, thermocouples, PT100 probes and small bi-metal thermometers on site.

How does it work? Simply plug it in, switch it on, set the temperature with the front-panel buttons and insert your probe into the correct size well, wait a few minutes for the temperature to stabilise and then compare the reading of your thermometer to the display temperature or to an external reference thermometer, the difference is the error in your device.

The 3001 calibrator has a display resolution of 0.1 degrees, an accuracy of +/-0.5C between +33 and +200C and +/-1C between +200 and +300C, a stability of +/-0.5C and a stabilisation time of ten minutes.

The 3001 will accept probe diameter sizes: 3.3, 4, 4.76 and 6.35mm, models with alternative hole dimensions are available.

The 3001 Dry-Well is priced at ?595 plus VAT and carriage.
