Device servers offer choice of operating
modes
Single- and dual-port serial device servers provide reliable communication connection between RS232/422/485 serial devices and an Ethernet LAN/WAN.
New from Ethernet Direct Corp, the BMS-136 and BMS-236 single- and dual-port serial device servers provide reliable communication connection between RS232/422/485 serial devices and an Ethernet LAN/WAN The BMS-136 and BMS-236 high speed serial servers network-enable serial devices, allowing every serial device onsite to be connected to an Ethernet network

The Husky switch product line offers a complete range of robust industrial Ethernet switches from unmanaged to web-smart and fully managed SNMP switches in both Fast Ethernet and Gigabit versions.
Industrial switches keep gigabit networks up
Husky Series HMG-825 and HMG-826 managed industrial Gigabit Ethernet switches have many management features that help to keep networks intact.
The BMS-136 and BMS-236 can be configured as TCP client/server or UDP.
The BMS series can operate in "direct IP mode", "virtual COM mode" and "paired mode".
They are equipped with versatile operation modes which provide a transparent data channel between serial device and the TCP/IP network, and can be accessed through standard TCP/IP protocols.
It can re-establish the TCP connection every 5 seconds if network malfunction occurs, to keep the device stay connected as soon as possible.
Direct IP connections allow applications using TCP/IP or UDP/IP network socket programs to communicate with the asynchronous serial port on the BMS-136 or BMS-236.
In this type of application the BMS serial server is configured as a TCP or UDP server.
The virtual COM mode requires the installation of a virtual COM port device driver.
In this mode, the BMS serial server must be set to either TCP/server or UDP/server with a designated communication port number.
The virtual COM driver is a TCP or UDP client.
Once the connection is made, the LAN is transparent to the serial device.
Paired mode is also called serial tunnelling.
When this type of configuration is selected, no additional software is needed to install in a host PC.
Any two dumb serial devices that can communicate with each other through a serial link will be able to communicate using BMS serial servers and the LAN.
Two BMS serial servers are configured with one set-up as a TCP or UDP client and the other as a TCP/UDP server.
The BMS-136 and BMS-236 can also work at loop back mode.
All data can be sent back immediately to make the connection testing easy.
The BMS-136 and BMS-236 provide a convenient way to establish reliable communications between two devices.
Communication port 5300 is reserved for the heart beat protocol.
If a connection failure occurs, the heart beat feature will try to reconnect the TCP data connection every 5 seconds until communications is established again.
