In addition, the costly technical and warranty issues involved with removing a PC's cover are no longer an issue: adding Edgeports and devices is easily done on-site by any in-house engineer.
Edgeport technology provides the upgrade path needed by process engineers today.
As multiple modules can be added to a single USB interface, WAN connectivity can be added as needed.
Installation and downtime costs are also hugely reduced, while the ability to connect with new and existing RS232 devices means that USB technology is used to deliver a lower total cost of ownership.
